Function

  • To organise and coordinate programmes involving the local community within the Council area.
  • To provide services and manage the Public Library of the Segamat District Council.
  • To manage Local Agenda 21 Programmes, Residents Committees, Program Gerak Mesra (Get-together Movement Programme).
  • To coordinate the Urban Poverty Eradication Programmes (PPKB).
  • To be responsible in research, development and publication of matters related to Community Development in the Segamat District Council.
  • To gather and disseminate information regarding Community Development.
  • To prepare and conduct campaigns, seminars and symposiums pertaining to the community.
  • To become a coordinator between the department and certain agencies with regards to community development.

Objective
To provide community programmes and become the mediator the Segamat District Council personnel and the local communities so as to produce a knowledgeable generation and strengthen the neighbourhood relationship among the multiracial communities.

Client Charter

  • To ensure that the Program Gerak Mesra is carried out twice a month according to zones.
  • To immediately process book check-outs at the Segamat District Council Public Library.
  • To obtain the latest information on the Residents Committee from Council Members to be updated every two months.
